A Palestinian medical team was able to perform a surgical operation, the first of its kind in Palestine and the second in the world.
The medical team at Al-Maqasid Islamic Charitable Hospital in Jerusalem was able to remove a tumor in the upper part of the left lung of an 8-year-old girl through surgical laparoscopy, and connect the lower part of the lung to the trachea to avoid its removal.
The specific operation conducted by Dr. Abu Akar with the medical staff carried many challenges, making it the first of its kind in Palestine and the second of its kind in the world.
