a. Dr.. Muhammad Abu Jaafar was born in Jenin in the year 1960 AD and finished his secondary studies from Jenin High School in the year 1978 AD. He obtained a bachelor’s degree in physics from An-Najah National University in the year 1982 AD, and he also obtained a master’s degree in physics from the University of Jordan in the year 1985 AD and was appointed to the Physics Department at An-Najah National University in the same year. 

A happened. Dr.. Abu Jaafar received a PhD in Physics from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale - America in 1991 AD. He also received a research and teaching assistantship at both the University of Jordan and Southern Illinois University and was promoted to associate professor in 2002. 

Professor Abu Jaafar worked in various administrative positions, as he served as Head of the Department of Physics in the period 2001-2003 AD. He also worked as Head of the Department of Graduate Studies for Natural Sciences in the period 2004-2007 AD. He also worked as Dean of the College of Graduate Studies for 6 years in the period 2008-2014 AD. .

He spent his sabbatical leave at La Sapienza University in Rome - Italy in the year 2015-2016. He supervised many master’s theses, and the number of students who graduated under his supervision ranged from more than 27 male and female students. He was a coordinator of four local and international conferences. His research interests focus on computational physics for condensed states using the full potential method for planar and modified linear waves (FP-LAPW).

He has published more than 50 papers in scientific and international journals with impact factors. He has also served as a reviewer for many international scientific journals.
