For over thirty years, Mr. Ammar Al-Aker has held several leadership and executive positions in various regions. He served as CEO of the Palestine Telecommunications Group from 2010 to 2022 and is currently a member of its board of directors. Prior to that, he was CEO of Jawwal and, before that, its Chief Financial Officer. He also held several financial management positions in the United Arab Emirates, Canada, and the United States.
Mr. Ammar was recently appointed Chairman of the Board of Directors of Arkan Real Estate, the largest real estate company listed on the Palestine Stock Exchange, which recently spun out of the telecommunications group and has assets exceeding $400 million. He is also Chairman of the Board of Directors of Vitel Middle East and Africa and a member of the Board of Directors of PADICO Holding.
Mr. Al-Aker is an active member of the boards of directors of numerous international and local organizations. He is the Chairman of the Advisory Board of AMIDEAST in Palestine, the Chairman of the Advisory Board of PalTechUS, a member of the Young Leaders Organization (YPO) Palestine Chapter, and a member of the Boards of Trustees of An-Najah National University, the Mahmoud Darwish Foundation, and the Institute for Palestine Studies in Beirut. In addition, he is a founding partner in several entrepreneurial and investment companies in Palestine, the UAE, and Canada.
He holds a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration and Accounting from Edinburgh University in Pennsylvania, and a Master's degree in Accounting from Kent State University in Ohio, USA.
