A Chilean businessman and billionaire of Palestinian origin from the city of Beit Jala, he was the first vice president of the board of directors of one of the largest private banks in Chile, and president of the Copesa Group, and acting CEO of the media conglomerate SA. He owns the Grand Hyatt Santiago, the Four Seasons Buenos Aires and Seasons Carmelo, and is the director of the Santiago Stock Exchange. He received the title of honorary professor from the University of Chile in front of a large audience of academics, businessmen and diplomats.
