Rami Rifaat Al-Nimr is a Palestinian businessman and intellectual , who holds Lebanese citizenship and lives in Beirut . He was born in the city of Nablus in Palestine . His father is the businessman Rifaat Al-Nimr , and his sister is the writer and politician Reem Al-Nimr .
Rami holds a BA in Arts and Political Science from the Swiss American College in Leysin , Switzerland , and a Master's degree in Banking Sciences from Adelphi University in New York, USA . He has been the Director and Chairman of the Board of Directors of First National Bank in Beirut since March 2001, which is one of the ten largest banks in Lebanon . He is an experienced banker with many notable achievements in the banking industry, and he has undergone extensive exchange programs with two international banks in London and New York at the beginning of his career, in addition to participating in many regional and international financial and banking workshops and conferences . Rami Al-Nimr serves on the boards of directors of many humanitarian and cultural organizations.
His achievements
He founded Dar El-Nimer for Art and Culture , and through it launched a rich cultural program that links the world’s civilizations with Palestine in the Lebanese capital, Beirut.
He owns a collection of artworks that include art pieces dating back ten centuries in the Arab East, some of which are artifacts that carry the legacy of Islamic and Eastern culture and shed light on the development of the political history of the region. The most prominent pieces include manuscripts, coins, ceramic pieces, glass artifacts, weapons, fabrics, metal tools, wooden artifacts inlaid with mother-of-pearl, Christian crosses, and Armenian pottery from Jerusalem, in addition to paintings by Orientalist painters.

Overseeing the operations of the banking and financial services sector in Lebanon, the Middle East and Africa , Rami leads the group’s investments and global expansion. He believes in giving back to local communities and is active in doing so on a personal level as well as through the companies he chairs. He has been recognized for his contributions to various initiatives and NGOs focused on education and human development. These projects include the United Lebanon Youth Project (ULYP), the Palestinian Student Fund, the Welfare Association , the Health Care Association, the Institute for Palestine Studies , and Human Rights Watch .
