Mufid Qweiks (November 21, 1958 - January 4, 2019) is a Palestinian poet, considered one of the poets of the resistance.

 

his life

Mufid Qweiqis was born in the village of Yarka on November 21, 1958 AD. He finished his primary and secondary studies there, but he did not continue his studies due to the difficult conditions, and he chose the field of self-employment. He later joined the Palestinian Communist Party, as a result of which he was arrested several times and under house arrest. He published his poems in the newspapers of the Palestinian Communist Party.

 

Mofeed was influenced by Mahmoud Darwish's poetry, and he is considered one of the resistance poets. His first poetry collection was published in 1980 AD under the title “On the Banks of the Wounded The Olive and the Laurel grew.” Then it stopped appearing and publishing for a period of 20 years for personal reasons, and then returned to activity and to the literary arena.

 

He was honored at home by several literary forums and cultural centers in Arab villages and cities, and he also participated in a number of political activities there.
