Information

Issam Badr is a Palestinian plastic artist (born in Hebron in 1948). He graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts - Baghdad, 1973. He graduated from the Tbilisi Academy of Fine Arts (Masters - Ceramics) in 1982. He is one of the founders of the Association of Palestinian Plastic Artists in the West Bank and Gaza.

Professional life
After 1967, the West Bank was almost empty of professional artists, until 1971, when the artist Issam Badr held a personal exhibition, and this exhibition was a reference to the return of the spirit to the fine movement in the West Bank under occupation, where a number of artists who started an active activity appeared. This is the first exhibition that some references indicate that it was held in the Hebron City Hall on February 20, 1972. Then it was transferred to the YMCA in Jerusalem on May 2, 1972. In 1973, Issam Badr held his second exhibition at the Immortal River Park Hall in Hebron on September 13. Then a bilateral exhibition of Issam Badr and Nabil al-Anani was held in the hall of the Orthodox Club in Ramallah on September 20, 1973. In 1979, Issam Badr painted a mural in the Ramallah municipality building. It consists of eight artistic figures of iron and porcelain (11.5 meters x 3.5 meters), on a marble floor. Then he held his graphic exhibition in Ramallah in 1979. He also held several personal exhibitions outside Palestine, and participated in dozens of international exhibitions, and in all joint exhibitions in Palestine.

Most of the Palestinian artists in the West Bank and Gaza Strip recognize the influential pioneering role of the artist Issam Badr after the 1967 occupation. The artist is currently conducting studies across the outer Jerusalem wall.
