Zuhdi Adawi was born in Al-Nusairat Refugee Camp, Gaza Strip in 1950; originally from Al-Lod. His expressionist drawings depict the psychological anguish and physical torture he endured there. While imprisoned in Ashkelan prison, Zuhdi Al Adawi taught himself to make art.
He now lives in a refugee camp in Damascus, Syria.
