Born in Kafr Yasif 1948, where he finished his secondary education; studied Arabic language Literature and the Middle East History at the University of Haifa 1970; MA in Arabic language Literature from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem 1973; earned his PhD from the Sorbonne University in Paris 1975, lecturer at University of Haifa. He lives with his family in Haifa.
