Born in Jebel Mukaber 1949, Jerusalem; received a Licentiate in Arabic Language from Beirut Arab University; he was arrested without trial (Administrative detention) 1969-1970; worked as an Arabic language teacher in Jerusalem (1977-1990); editor of several magazines and newspapers; a founding member of the Palestinian Writers Union.
