Born in Al-Jusayr village 1939; he and his family emigrated to Hebron in 1950; joined the Palestinian National Movement in an early age; BA in 1957; became one of the most famous poets in the West Bank; arrested several times because of his political activities and he was sentenced 17 years in jail, ran away from jail to Lebanon - for five years as a political refugee - where he worked as an English language and Mathematics teacher; emigrated to Syria then to Egypt where he joined Ein-Shams University; established the first Literary Association in Syria 1966, a founding member of the Arab Writers Union in Syria; represented Palestine in many conferences around the world; elected as the president of the General Union of Palestinian Writers and Journalists in Al-Maghrib Al-Arabi (the Arab West); died on 30 April 2008.
