Born in 1994 in St. Louis, Saj Issa is a multidisciplinary Palestinian-American artist whose work spans painting, sculpture and performance. In light of the ongoing war, her recent creative output – she began with painting a bleeding poppy flower daily – has taken the form of protest. Issa is also part of the Great Rivers Biennial at the Contemporary Art Museum St. Louis, where she is presenting a series of sculptures that celebrate the flora of Palestine.
