Riad Kamel ( born 1954) is a Palestinian writer and academic critic who has published numerous critical works and literary and intellectual studies in the fields of short stories, novels, theatre  and poetry  He holds a PhD on the literature of the Syrian novelist Hanna Mina  - Ilan University and works as a lecturer at the Oranim Academic College. He  member of the Palestinian Writers Union in 1948 occupied Palestine and a member of the  Darwish Prize jury. 

His literary and professional career

Riyad Kamel has been a lecturer at the Oranim Academic College since 1993, and has served as director of the St. Joseph Sisters School in Nazareth for nearly a quarter of a century.  He has published numerous critical works and literary studies in the fields of short stories, novels, theater, and poetry .  His work is published in peer-reviewed literary journals, newspapers, literary magazines, and numerous websites. He participates in numerous literary, cultural, and intellectual seminars in the country and abroad. He received the Literary Sabbatical Award from the Ministry of Culture in 2007.  He has numerous books and publications, including “Studies in Palestinian Literature”  (2017). This year, he published his book “Reality and Imagination - The Literary World of Muhammad Ali Taha”  , published by Dar Al-Ahlia for Publishing and Distribution in Amman .
