A Syrian writer of Palestinian origins, born in Berea - Safed in 1947. He obtained a BA in Literature/Department of Arabic Language from Damascus University in 1973.

He also obtained a diploma in Media/Journalism Branch in 1972. He began his journalistic career as an editor in Al-Thawra newspaper in 1967. His interest was focused on cultural and literary affairs, and he conducted several important interviews with poets and writers at that time.

After that, he turned entirely to writing on political affairs, and over many years he wrote many articles, columns and political commentaries that were published in newspapers and magazines, and many of them were broadcast on Syrian radio and television. He had a distinguished presence and still does in this field.

He was editor-in-chief of the ((Wafa)) agency in 1972, in Damascus. He was one of the active participants in establishing the Union of Palestinian Writers and Journalists, and was elected for two electoral terms as a member of the General Conference representing the Syrian branch of the Union.

In 1978, he was assigned as editor-in-chief of Al-Fida newspaper, published in Hama Governorate. He then worked as head of the cultural section in Al-Thawra newspaper, then the political section. Since 1980, he assumed the position of editor-in-chief of the monthly magazine Voice of Palestine.

He also assumed the position of editor-in-chief of Al-Wahda newspaper, published in Latakia in 1984, where he published issue zero and the first issues of the newspaper. He assumed the position of editor-in-chief for political affairs in Tishreen newspaper since 1989. He also assumed the position of editor-in-chief of Tishreen Weekly magazine since 1998.

A member of the Syrian Journalists Union Council for two electoral terms since 1991 until now. He visited many foreign countries, and most Arab countries on official journalistic missions and upon invitations to media and diplomatic festivals.
