Majed Ali Al-Dajani (1950 - 2021) is a Palestinian poet , writer and author , famous for his poems about Jerusalem and his city of Jericho .
His life
Majed Al-Dajani was born in Jericho in 1950. He completed his basic education there, and after completing his education to obtain a Bachelor’s degree in English , he worked in the Meteorological Department in Jericho, and held the position of Manager of the Jericho Branch at the Bank of Amman/Cairo, and was a member of the Cultural Center in Jericho. He published his articles and poems in a number of Arab and local newspapers and magazines, and wrote a number of poetry collections. He presented several poems about Jerusalem and Jericho, until the Jerusalem Intellectuals Forum honored him with the Best Poetry Collection Award about Jerusalem, for his collection “Murals on the Wall of Jerusalem” at the 12th “Flower of Cities for Jerusalem” Festival at Al-Quds University in 2018.
His death
Majed passed away on the evening of Saturday, October 16, 2021 , at the age of 71, due to a heart attack .
