Dalal Saeb Mohammad Erekat (born 17 May 1982 in Jerusalem ) is a Palestinian scholar of diplomacy and state-building and an associate professor at the Arab American University in Palestine. She also served as Vice President for International Relations at the Arab American University (Palestine) and has been a weekly columnist for Al-Quds newspaper since 2016. She is a founding member of the Middle East Women Mediators Network and the founding chair of the International Federation of Women’s Business and Professional Women’s Network Palestine. She is a board member of PADICO Holding 2023 and served as a senior advisor for strategic communications in the Prime Minister’s Office. Dalal Erekat is the first Palestinian from outside the business world to be named a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum in 2021. 

Her upbringing and academic achievement

Born on May 17, 1982 in Jerusalem , Erekat received her school education in Jericho schools , and obtained her high school diploma in 2000. She then obtained a BA in Political Science from the University of Jordan in 2003. In 2006, she obtained a diploma in French from the University of Paris , and in 2004 she obtained a master's degree in Diplomatic Studies from the University of Westminster . In 2011, she obtained a PhD from the University of Paris in Political Science/Public Administration, with highest honors.
