Issam Tarshhani ( 1944 - January 29, 2024 ) is a Palestinian poet and writer, born in Tarshiha , Palestine in 1944 AD. He has many books, and many critical studies have been written about him and his works. He won the Best Poet Award from the Poetry Academy in America in 2004.
Biography
Tarshani was born in Palestine in 1944 AD. He studied in UNRWA schools. He holds a degree in history from the University of Damascus . He worked as director of the Ashkelon Political and Popular Song Band. He is a member of the Poetry Society. He has many poetic works. Some of his works have been translated into English and French. And Spanish.
It is distinguished by its presentation of many humanitarian issues, especially the suffering of the Palestinian person within the homeland or in the diaspora.
Tarshani is a member of the Arab Writers Union , and a member of the Palestinian Writers and Journalists Union . He participated in the twenty-ninth poetry festival of the University Graduates Association. His story with poetry began after immigrating from Palestine in 1948 AD, on foot to Lebanon . He wanted his pen to be the weapon with which he defended his cause and preserved his identity.

Achievements and Awards
Awards
Tarshani, out of 2,750 poets around the world, won the Best Poetry Award for the year 2004, presented by the International Academy of Poetry in the United States , in recognition of his distinguished poetry. The value of the award is $20,000, a gold medal, and also a huge silver cup engraved with the poet’s name as the best general poet. 2004 AD
