Osama Al-Aissa , a Palestinian writer and journalist, born in 1963. He worked in many Palestinian and Arab newspapers. He has published more than 10 books, including the novel “The Madmen of Bethlehem,” which won the Sheikh Zayed Book Award for Literature in 2015.
Biography
Osama Al-Aissa, a writer and journalist , was born in the Dheisheh refugee camp in the city of Bethlehem , Palestine in 1963. [1] [2] He moved to Jordan in 1987, and Al-Aissa worked in many Arab and Palestinian newspapers, such as “Raya” newspaper in 1984, and “ “Al- Mammaz ,” “ The Vanguard ,” “ Al-Sharq Al-Awsat ,” “ Al- Akhbar ,” and “ All Arabs .” [1] [3] He published short stories in “ Al-Ittihad ” newspaper, and “ Al-Ghad ” and “Al-Jadeed” magazines. [2] Al-Issa was a member of the Arab Intellectual Forum headed by one of the leaders of national action, Ibrahim Al-Daqqaq . [2] After that, he became editor-in-chief of the weekly newspaper “ Al-Sada ”. [1] He is a member of the Palestinian Journalists Syndicate and a member of the Palestinian Writers Union .
He has so far published six novels, including “Al-Maskobiyyah” and “The Madmen of Bethlehem,” and six scientific and historical books such as “The Dead Sea Scrolls” and “Tel Aviv Does Not Know Forgetting - The Story of the Assassinations of the Leaders of the Al-Aqsa Intifada,” and four short story collections: “God’s Messenger to the Beloved” and he also has some research for documentary films about politics and culture in Palestine . Al-Aissa published his first book in 1984, a collection of short stories entitled “We, the poor, are still the people most capable of love.” [2] [5] A year later, he published his long story, “Al-Hunun Al-Jabali.” He received many awards, including the Appreciation Award in the Al-Awda Award for Oral History for his research “Stories from the Land of Jerusalem” in 2008, the Palestine Award for Journalism and Media “Written Newspaper - Press Story” for the year 2011, and the Sheikh Zayed Book Award for his novel “The Madmen of Bethlehem.” In 2015.
