Information

Artist Sanaa Ali Musa

The artist was born in the Upper Galilee in occupied Palestine. She grew up in a musical artistic environment from her father, Ali, and her grandmother, Watfa, from whom she learned and created music with the traditional Palestinian singing heritage.

Academically, her passion was in the biological sciences. She holds a doctorate in neuroscience from the Faculty of Medicine at Al-Quds University and obtained an excellent grade in it. She has been working in this field for years and continues to excel in scientific medical research.

Musa is known for presenting musical art with an uncommon Palestinian heritage. She searches for Palestinian classes and axes that attract attention without having been previously addressed. This made her and her artistic project a message that toured the world with hundreds of musical performances of Palestinian heritage. She was the inspiring voice for many. One of the most talented young artists around the world.

Sanaa considers traditional songs cultural contents and books of knowledge that tell the stories of peoples. They tell the story of man in a specific time and place, such as the details of the life of the Palestinian people in the land of Canaan. The songs recount the rituals of planting and harvesting, the prayer for rain, and other rituals, and document the various political stages of our lives, such as the period of travel in Barlak to the period of occupation. British and other songs related to the group’s culture.

Since 2005, Sanaa has been carrying out field research using a scientific, anthropological methodology to collect materials that constitute the starting point or the foundation on which her musical projects depend, and she is still working to document this heritage in the Palestinian camps in the homeland and the diaspora. These field research culminated in the release of two CDs: “Ishraq” in 2010, and “Haggis” in 2016, in cooperation with artists Muhammad Moussa and Bashara Al-Khal, and an elite group of musicians in the world.
