Badia Othman Abdel-Ghani Al-Sharbati, commonly known as Samira Al-Sharbati (1953), is a Palestinian poet. She was born in the city of Hebron and grew up there. She completed her primary and secondary studies there, then obtained a diploma in the English language and then a BA in Arabic Literature from Beirut Arab University, where she worked as a teacher until 1986. She was dismissed by the Israeli authorities, and she returned to work in the Directorate of Education under the Palestinian state established in 1988. She has been a member of the Palestinian Writers Union since its founding. She is the author of several collections and two poetic plays for children based on Palestinian folk tales, and a third inspired by the Declaration of Independence.

Her biography
She is Badia bint Othman bin Abdul Ghani bin Khaled bin Abdul Rahim bin Ahmed bin Khaled Al Sharabati, known as Samira. I was born in the city of Hebron in 1943 AD/1372 AH and grew up there. She received her primary and secondary education there. She obtained a diploma in English and then a BA in Arabic Literature from Beirut Arab University. He worked as a teacher until 1986, when the Israeli authorities forced her to retire, then she was returned to work in the Hebron Directorate of Education, Activities Department, in 1988.
She has been a member of the Palestinian Writers Union since 1984 and the Phoenix Cultural Society in Hebron.

Her personal life
Her brother participated in the Battle of Karama in 1968 and was killed during it and is considered a martyr.

Awards and honors
1995: Feminist Creativity Award.
1998 First place in theater from the Palestinian Ministry of Culture.
August 24, 2015: The Palestinian Ministry of Culture honored her in recognition of her distinguished role and creative contributions in the field of preserving Palestinian culture and defending national identity.
