Samer Abu Hawash, a Palestinian writer, poet, and translator, born in 1972. He has published several publications in poetry, novels, and translation. So far, he has published ten collections of short stories, the most recent of which is “Ruins,” published by Mediterranean Publications, and two novels. He also translated many American poems and English novels into Arabic.

Samer Abu Hawash was born in the city of Sidon, located in southern Lebanon, in 1972 to a Palestinian family. He studied in Sidon schools before moving to Beirut to complete his university studies, where he studied journalism and graduated from the Lebanese University - Faculty of Media and Documentation in 1996. Since 1994, Abu Hawash has worked in the Beirut cultural press.

He began his literary career in 1991, when he published a number of his poems in many Lebanese magazines and newspapers. He published his first poetry collection, “Life Is Printed in New York,” in 1997. To date, he has published ten poetry collections. In 2005, he published his first novel, “Lovers’ Day.” He has two novels to date. Abu Hawash also translated many American poems and English novels into Arabic. More than twenty American poets have been translated into Arabic, including Robert Bly, A.I., Charles Bukowski, and Louise Gleick. He has also translated many English novels, including The Invention of the Spindle: Portrait of an Invisible Man followed by The Book of Memory by Paul Auster, Bridge of Stars by Heng Mankell, the complete works of fiction by William Faulkner, On the Road by Jack Kerouac, and Tree of Smoke by Dennis Johnson. , The House by Marilyn Robinson, the complete works of fiction by J. J. Ballard, and many others. In 2008, he published a fifteen-volume translation series of American poetry published by Kalima House. The series includes works by Anne Sexton, Jack Kerouac, Billy Collins, Sylvia Plath, Charles Simic, William Faulkner, and others.
