Information

The plastic artist Muhammad Abu Salah was born in Aleppo in 1955 to a Palestinian family that immigrated from the city of Haifa to the city of Akka. Then the family moved to the city of Aleppo, where they settled.
His talents appeared since childhood, when he learned to draw on his own and at the hands of some drawing professors in Aleppo, such as Afnan Abd al-Rahman Murtada, who gave Muhammad special attention and care. When he was only seventeen years old, Muhammad held the first solo exhibition of his works in the hall of the National Museum in Aleppo. He gained admiration in the artistic and cultural community for his ability to deal with drawing, especially in the strong expression of his intellectual and artistic themes and his views on the national struggle. His fame began to spread, especially when he was a student. At the University of Aleppo, he studies in the Department of Agricultural Engineering, from which he graduated in 1975.
He became a member of the General Union of Palestinian Visual Artists. He is a founding member and participated in its founding conference in Beirut. He is also a member of the Union of Arab Plastic Artists, a member of the Union of Palestinian Writers and Journalists, a member of the Palestinian National Committee for the Arts and the representative of the Union of Artists in the International Association of Arts in Paris.
The artist Abu Salah also practiced print and journalistic design and production, in which he demonstrated clear excellence. He also designed the decor for the play (A Special Night Celebration for Dresden), written by Mustafa Al-Hallaj and directed by Wanis Bandak in 1986.
The artist held several solo exhibitions in Aleppo and Damascus and participated in group exhibitions, especially exhibitions of Palestinian art, in Moscow, Beirut, Madrid, Aden, Barcelona, Prague, Athens, Kuwait, Berlin, New York, and Cyprus. The artist Abu Salah has won several artistic awards.
Among his most important works:
 The Alphabet of Love and Revolution, A Fighter's Rest, The Price, The Kiss from the Lip of a Knife, A Letter, The Night of the Assassination, Ulysses and the Dream of Ithaca, The Sun and the Wings Dialogue.
He died in the city of Aleppo following a severe brain attack in 1986.
