A Palestinian political historian, born in the city of Jaffa in 1939. He grew up in a family of militant fighters. He studied elementary school in the city of Jaffa, then moved to study in Amman and Lebanon. He lived through many political and militant events and issues during his childhood years, and joined the American University in Beirut to pursue his graduate studies after that. He joined the University of London and obtained a doctorate on the subject of (Arab-Palestinian resistance). 

who joined the Arab Socialist Baath Party, and rose organizationally until he became a member of the Palestine National Office in 1960, and secretary of the Palestine Division and the Arab Liberation Front in Lebanon in 1961. He also became a member of the national leadership of the Arab Socialist Baath Party, and was elected as a member. The Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization and a member of the National and Central Councils of the organization. During his national struggle, he participated in establishing the General Union of Palestine Students, worked as editor-in-chief of the Al-Raed Al-Arabi volume, and actively participated in leading the Palestinian national action in Lebanon in 1970 and 1975. 

He had a very broad intellectual and political activity in all Arab countries, where he organized many seminars and workshops in civil, popular and union institutions, and gave national, cultural and historical lectures in Arab universities with the aim of clarifying the history of Palestine and the facts of the catastrophes that befell the Palestinian people and the Arab role in Palestine. He participated in dozens of intellectual conferences in European and Arab countries. The historian Kayyali has many intellectual sayings and aphorisms, and many published works, the most famous and important of which are the modern history of Palestine, the Palestinian resistance and the Arab struggle, Palestinian studies and readings, Expansionist Zionist ambitions, the kibbutz and collective farms in Israel, Arabs and current strategic issues, the National Charter and strategic thought, Europe, the Arabs and the world, Camp David and the impasse, European hesitation and the Palestinian issue, joint Arab action and current challenges, Arab national security is the answer, Arabs facing Israeli nuclear blackmail.
