Al-Mutawakkil Saeed Saleh Taha Nazzal is a Palestinian poet from the city of Qalqilya, born in 1958. He obtained a doctorate in literature and a master’s degree in literature and criticism from Yarmouk University in Jordan, and a doctorate in arts and literature from the Institute of Arab Research and Studies of the League of Arab States in Cairo. Poetry is written by his father, Saeed Bakr Taha. He published forty-five books on poetry, narrative, criticism, and thought.

His life
He was arrested by the Israeli occupation authorities. He was elected President of the Palestinian Writers Union from 1987-1995. He was elected Chairman of the General Authority of the Palestinian Higher Education Council from 1992-1994. He served as Undersecretary of the Palestinian Ministry of Information from 1994-1998. He founded the “House of Poetry” in Palestine in 1998, with a number of Palestinian creatives, and headed it for eight years until 2005. General supervisor and responsible editor of Poets magazine and Aqwas magazine for eight years. He was elected Secretary-General of the General Union of Palestinian Writers and Writers from 2005 until 2010. He headed and participated in the delegation of the Palestinian Writers Union in the meetings of the General Union of Arab Writers for fifteen years, which were held in most Arab capitals and cities. President of the “Poets Without Borders” organization in Palestine. He worked as a lecturer at another Palestinian university. He served as Undersecretary of the Ministry of Information from 2006 to 2012. He directed and participated in hundreds of seminars, conferences, and festivals in various countries of the world, and published many of his works at home and abroad, and a number of his works were translated into several languages. He worked as Palestine's ambassador to Libya from 2012 to 2015. He works in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs with the rank of ambassador. Member of the Board of Trustees of the Palestine International Award for Creativity and Excellence. Al-Mutawakkil was honored more than one hundred and sixty times by Palestinian, Arab and regional cultural, academic, media and intellectual institutions. Many academic researches and studies have dealt with the poetry and writings of Al-Mutawakkil Taha, other than a study or a conference. He won many awards, including the “Freedom”, “Jerusalem” and “Resistance Creativity” awards.
