Walid Al-Sharafa is a Palestinian writer and novelist, born in 1973. He wrote four novels and one play. His novels, “Heir of the Evidence,” published in 2017, and “Coming from Resurrection,” published in 2008, were shortlisted for the International Prize for Arabic Fiction – Booker. He also has a number of critical literary researches and books, including “Edward Said and the Criticism of the Reincarnation of Orientalism: The Discourse, the Other, the Image,” which was published by Dar Al-Ahlia for Publishing and Distribution.

Walid Al-Sharafa is a Palestinian writer who was born in the city of Nablus, Palestine in 1973. He graduated from Birzeit University, where he obtained a master’s degree for the thesis “The Early Arabic Narrative” in 2000. He then obtained a doctorate in Arabic literature from the University of Jordan in 2006 for his thesis, “The Discourse at Edward Said. Al-Sharafa has been a professor of media, cultural and Arabic studies, and criticism at Birzeit University since 2006. In 1991, he wrote his first play while still in high school, entitled “The People’s Court.” Three years later, he wrote his first novel, “Confessions of an Absent.” In 2008, he published the novel “Coming from Resurrection,” which was shortlisted for the International Arab Booker Prize, then in 2017 he published his novel “Heir of the Evidence,” which was also shortlisted for the International Prize for Arabic Fiction in 2018. Most of his novels revolve around the Palestinian issue and its suffering. The Palestinian people over the years.
