Information

In the fourth grade of primary school, the features of talent began to appear on the child’s personality, and she became an avid reader, looking at books in various fields, other than textbooks. She would also spend the fine arts and sports classes at school writing on her notebooks and some scraps of paper, and scribbling on them poetry that she was preparing. Her time was free, and most of the time it did not carry any meaning except that it expressed her psychological state affected by the absence of her traveling father. Despite her introverted personality, she would dare to read her writings out loud in front of her colleagues, but only her mother knew of her talent, but she continued to write because of her love for it. Donia Sununu (17 years old) sees herself as an ordinary girl. She preferred to express herself through writing at a time when no one listens to the other, according to her conviction. Three years ago, she published her first novel, “Haifa Love,” and recently her second novel, “A Thousand Years,” was printed. From Jogging” and will be displayed at the Cairo Exhibition. Her introverted nature imposed on her the belief that “life is not sweet” with the participation of others, which was reflected in her outlook on life and her interaction with it. This idea is due to the fact that she did not receive help from anyone when she published her first novel, and for this reason she decided to develop herself a lot, and to do this by relying on... On itself only. From poetry to the novel, Sununu said in an interview with “Filastin”: “With time, my ideas and language developed and became constantly improved, and I turned to writing thoughts in the assonance method, even though I did not receive encouragement until after I published the novel (Haifa’s Love), and I was receiving harsh criticism.” “And what I discovered is that criticism is better than support,” she said, adding that she was trying to avoid some details of criticism that would affect her, and she went beyond all negative thoughts to provide calm in her private world. She continued: “I do not write for a specific reason, except because I feel that writing is the best solution to continue life and face the misery that we wake up to every morning from wars, attacks, famines, and people who die because they seek to live in peace in some Arab countries, and this makes me feel that there is no reason for me to live for tomorrow.” Therefore, if I do not write, I will remain trapped in pessimism.” Swallow seeks to find her own world, and silence is her master, away from any noise. She watches everything around her and discovers what is new without interrupting anyone. These are the requirements of those who tend to be alone. She only writes in the presence of absolute silence, so when the middle of the night is able to She can freely explain her day on paper, and invent new characters, or a character who creates strength and hope and aspires to reach them. After reading books by well-known personalities and in different styles, she loved the idea and began writing thoughts and short stories, some of which represented her personality, and some of which expressed the reality of people. She used websites and forums as a platform to publish her writings. The Enchanting City Three years ago, she visited the city of Haifa. She was moved by the idea of visiting it and that she was walking around like a tourist. She loved the sea and its rolling waves, and the image of the majestic mountain in it, so she wrote the novel “Love for Haifa” to draw the reader in, and perhaps make him cry over the state that the enchantingly beautiful city had become after the occupation. It has been going on for 67 years, and before she turned eighteen, she published her second novel, “A Thousand Years of Running.” In her second novel, Sununu expanded on the stories of the suffering experienced by Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, from poverty, hardship, and excruciating pain caused by repeated wars. She represented this through characters who lived through that tragedy, in addition to the loss of the taste of life by others due to the departure of people dear to them, referring to Unemployment deprived young people of their homeland and forced them to emigrate in search of work. It also spoke of the people’s steadfastness and patience with everything they go through. With both novels, she tried to satisfy her passion for writing, and focused on the “sad, romantic” aspect, and assumed unrealistic characters that she derived from her imagination, but what bothers her is the negligence of the authorities concerned with the rights of those with talent, and the lack of interest in them and encouragement. Sununu indicated that she will continue on this path to show her love for her homeland and its people who have suffered from displacement, despite all the obstacles she faces, especially the harsh critics who tell her that “writing has become a fad” and “you will distort literature.” What keeps her on this path is Her belief in the phrase, “No one supports you but your backbone.”
