Palestinian critic Hossam Al-Khatib was born in 1932 in the city of Tiberias, Palestine. He is considered one of the most prominent and influential critics in the fields of comparative literature, literary criticism, modern Arabic literature, translation, culture and its issues, the Arabic language, with a special interest in Palestinian Arabic literature and the Palestinian issue. He obtained a diploma in journalism in 1950, then obtained a university degree in Arabic language and literature, from the University of Damascus in 1954, a diploma in education from the University of Damascus in 1955, a university degree in English language and literature, from the University of Damascus in 1959, and a doctorate in literature from the University of Cambridge in 1955. 1969.
