Information

Raed Wahsh is a Palestinian-Syrian poet and writer. Born in 1981. He has published three collections of poetry so far, the first is “White Blood”, published by Dar Al-Takwin in Damascus in 2005, then followed by the collection of “No One Dreams Like Nobody” which was published as part of the festive publications of Damascus, Capital of Arab Culture 2008, while “When the War Did Not Happen” The third poetry collection, published by Dar Kaf in Amman, 2012.

He also published a prose book entitled “An Incomplete Piece of the Sky of Damascus” in 2015, which is a mixture of multiple types of writing. A story, an essay, a play, and a journey, which combine in the form of a narrative sequence to monitor the violent repercussions on human life in Syria today, through a narrator who lives war and siege and tells their stories in a Palestinian camp, so that the moment of the camp appears as a shortcut to all previous calamities. It is a personal and collective biography at the same time, and an attempt to stand on time as seen by the camp, that being that has stepped aside and whose voice we no longer hear, even though the camps do not stop reproducing and multiplying.

Raed Wahsh works as an editor for the cultural page on the Ultrasout website, and he has recently participated in a number of literary festivals in Europe, such as the Berlin International Poetry Festival.
