Riyad Al-Bandak is “Riyad bin Issa bin Basil Al-Bandak”, a Palestinian composer and musician from the city of Bethlehem in Palestine, he was born on July 4, 1924 and died in Damascus on February 7, 1992. The first stop in the life of Riyad Al-Bandak began in Bethlehem, where his family lived and worked as Its workplace was A. His father is Mr. Issa Al-Bandak, the owner of Al-Sha’ab newspaper, who was also the mayor of Bethlehem. He was also known for his love of journalism and worked in it with his brother, “Youssef Al-Bandak.” A tune for great artists such as Wadih Al-Safi, Marie Gibran, and Ruba El-Gamal. His art was admired by the musician Muhammad Abdel-Wahhab and Riyad Al-Sunbati, who commented on the tune, “My Eyes on Patience”: This tune is like a complete artistic school.
In addition to everyone mentioned above, he composed for Nasri Shams El-Din, Melhem Barakat, George Wassouf, Nihad Tarabay, Fahd Ballan, and the discovery of the voice of the singer Faten El-Hinnawi, the sister of the generation’s singer, Mayada El-Hinnawi, as he composed for her “Hey Who Saqana”, which won the first prize in the Tunis Song Festival in 2008. 1967. He was one of the first to help singer Faiza Ahmed to success.
In 1945, he composed his first song, titled “Greetings to the Arabs of Palestine to the Land of the Kinana.” His beginning, which was mixed with the political turmoil in the country, and with this he moved to the Syrian capital, Damascus, and after that it was his last resting place as well. There he supervised the music section of Radio Damascus.
Al-Bandak was characterized by flexibility and did not adhere to his work, so he excelled in composing songs and chants, as well as in the talent of composing. One of his most important works of art, in which he put the greatest amount of his artistic experience, was the symphony “From Tishreen to Palestine,” which he began writing its editorial in 1976 and finished in 1989.
