Muhammad Yusuf Najm (1343 AH / 1925 AD - 1430 AH / 2009 AD) was a Palestinian-Lebanese writer and university professor.

He was born in 1925 in Al-Majdal. He received his education at the Arab College in Jerusalem and graduated from the Department of Arabic Language from the American University of Beirut in the year 1365 AH corresponding to the year 1946 AD. He also obtained two master’s degrees in Arts; The first was from the American University in Beirut in the year 1367 AH, corresponding to the year 1948 AD, and the second was from Fouad I University in Cairo in the year 1370 AH, corresponding to the year 1951 AD, then he obtained a Ph. The American University of Beirut until his retirement in 1419 AH corresponding to 1998 AD. He received the Jerusalem Medal for Culture, Arts and Literature in 1990 and the King Faisal International Prize in Arabic Language and Literature in 1412 AH corresponding to the year 1992 AD, jointly with Shukri Muhammad Ayad and Muhammad Mustafa Badawi.
