Pianist
Fadi Deeb is part of a rising generation of Palestinian musicians whose
performances have dazzled audiences from all over the world. El Deeb has
distinguished himself in many competitions, winning first prize in the Marcel
Khalife Competition and the Roma per Jerusalem Competition 2008, the Palest
“In&out Competition 2015” and the Ackerman Chamber Music Competition 2015.
El
Deeb proved himself in New York by winning the 2012 Stony Brook Concerto
Competition and performing Tchaikovsky's First Concerto in a concert with the
Stony Brook Symphony Orchestra. El-Deeb has received numerous grants and
awards, including the Qattan Foundation Scholarship, the Jerusalem Academy
Presidential Award, and the prestigious Fulbright Scholarship. He is a graduate
of Stony Brook University where he studied with Professor Gilbert Kalisz, with
a PhD in Musical Arts.
El
Deeb has performed in some of the world's most prestigious concert halls, such
as the Institut du Monde Arabe in Paris, the Concertgebouw Hall, and the
Lincoln Center.
The
highlights of the 2017-2018 season were the release of two albums, the first
two albums, “Piano Music by Palestinian Composers” which was certified GB, and
“Amin Nasser - The Complete Piano Works/Volume 1” which was sponsored by the
Edward Said National Conservatory of Music.
As a
classical chamber musician, El Deeb has collaborated with leading musicians in
the field such as Palestinian-Japanese soprano Maryam Tamari, Palestinian
pianist Bechara Harouni, Taiwanese violinist Chen Qiao Liao, and Hungarian
cellist Agnes Kalay.
Throughout
his career, El Deeb has been committed to his teaching role as he was part of
the pre-university faculty at Stony Brook University. El-Deeb currently heads
the piano department at the House of Music Institute in Shfaram.
Finally,
El-Deeb, along with the Palestinian violinist Shaden Nahra, established a
concert series that combines performance, art and lectures under the title
“Classical”, in order to create a unique educational musical experience for the
public, especially the young audience who is not familiar with classical music.
