Lamia Al-Farouqi, wife of Ismail Raji Al-Farouqi. Her name was Louise, originally a Christian, then she converted to Islam.

She is known to specialize in church music and to have a master's degree in Christian religious music. After her conversion to Islam, she became one of the leading scholars specializing in Islamic art, especially the art of Islamic architecture and others. She co-authored the English-language Atlas of Islamic Civilization with her husband, which was translated into Arabic after his death. Through it, they tried to define the essence of Islamic civilization and its distinctive characteristics, and to emphasize the role of monotheism in shaping all its aspects, even the material ones.

She died with her husband, Dr. Al-Farouqi, who was stabbed with a knife in the United States of America, on the night of Ramadan 18, 1406 AH, corresponding to May 27, 1986 AD.
