Khairat Al-Saleh was born in Jerusalem and educated in Syria, Egypt, and the University of Wales, Swansea, where she studied English literature and poetry. She is a Syrian-British poet, glassmaker, painter, and printmaker, who lives between England and Syria. Arabic and miniatures inspired by Arab and Islamic art. She also tried to include Arabic ornamentation and Islamic geometric motifs in her paintings and prints.
Because she is a poet, her art is closely linked to illumination and clarity. However, I discovered traces of water color and digital art. She trained in Richmond but was a self-taught artist. She had several exhibits at the Lytton House Museum in London, and in many European and Arab countries. Currently producing artwork and writing under the pen name in Britain. She has also published several books that have been translated into many languages.
