Zuhair Abd al-Majid al-Fahoum (b. 1935 - d. 2009 AD) was one of the men of education in Israel, a Palestinian historian and researcher.

 

His birth and upbringing

Zuhair al-Fahoum was born in Nazareth in 1935, and he is a descendant of the al-Fahoum family, one of the largest families in Palestine. He grew up between Nazareth and the displaced village of Indore. He received his primary education at the Shihab El-Din School in Nazareth, and finished his secondary education at the Municipal High School.

 

He joined the Hebrew University in Jerusalem, studying history and education, then continued his studies for a master's degree.

 

His career in education

He began his practical career in the fifties of the twentieth century, as he was a teacher of the Arabic language, and moved between a number of Arab villages and cities in Israel, so he taught in Haifa, Ibtan, and Bir al-Maksur, and eventually settled as a teacher at Ibn Khaldun Preparatory School in the city of Nazareth, then he rose to become a director He joined the school in 1975, and remained in his position until he retired in 1995.

He died in 2009 in Haifa, and was buried in Nazareth.
