Osama Al-Issa is a Palestinian writer and journalist, born in 1963. He worked for several Palestinian and Arab newspapers. He has published more than 10 books, including the novel "The Madmen of Bethlehem", which won the Sheikh Zayed Book Award in the literature category in 2015.

Osama Al-Eissa, writer and journalist was born in the Dheisheh camp in Bethlehem, Palestine in 1963. He moved to Jordan in 1987, and Al-Essa worked for several Arab and Palestinian newspapers such as “Raya” newspaper in 1984, “Al-Mehmaz” and “Al-Tali’a” "," Asharq Al-Awsat, "Al-Akhbar" and "Kol Al-Arab". He published short stories in "Al-Ittihad" newspaper, "Al-Ghad" and "Al-Jadeed" magazines. Al-Issa was a member of the Arab Intellectual Forum headed by one of the leaders of national action, Ibrahim Al-Daqqaq. After that, he became editor-in-chief of the weekly newspaper "Al-Sada". He is a member of the Palestinian Journalists Syndicate and a member of the Palestinian Writers Union. He has published six novels so far, including "Al-Maskubiya" and "The Maniacs of Bethlehem", six scientific and historical books such as "The Dead Sea Scrolls" and "Tel Aviv Does Not Know Forgetting - The Story of the Assassinations of the Leaders of the Al-Aqsa Intifada", and four short story collections, "The Messenger of God" To the Habiba.” He also has some research for documentaries on politics and culture in Palestine. Al-Issa published his first book in 1984 and it was a collection of short stories entitled “We are still the poor, the most capable of people to love.” A year later, he released his long story "Mountain Affection". He has won many awards, including an Appreciation Award in the Return of Oral History Award for his research “Tales from Jerusalem” in 2008, the Palestine Prize for Journalism and Media “Written Press - Journalistic Story” for the year 2011, and the Sheikh Zayed Book Award for his novel “The Fools of Bethlehem.” in 2015.
