Shawqi Yousef Habib (1929-2018) is a Palestinian poet and educator. He was born in the village of Iblin in Palestine in 1929. He received his primary education at Iblin Public School and then at Shefa Amr Public School. He received his secondary education at Terra Sanita College in Jerusalem and graduated from it with a "Palestine leave" certificate and a "London leave" certificate, and then joined the college Rashidiya in Jerusalem for one school term and returned to his village due to the poor security conditions in Jerusalem at the time.
With the establishment of Israel, he was appointed as a teacher in several schools, including Iblin, Shfaram and Nazareth. Then he joined the Technion in Haifa, and graduated in the summer of 1956 with a B.Sc degree in chemical engineering. He was not given the opportunity to work in this profession, so he returned to the teaching profession at the Baptist School, in Nazareth, where he became director of the Municipal Secondary School on November 1, 1966. .
On January 1, 1970, he was chosen as a Qatari inspector for science in Arab preparatory and secondary schools in the country, where he worked on developing scientific branches in them and also worked on opening several new and secondary schools. While working as a teacher and inspector, Shawqi Habib developed a series of four-volume school chemistry books that helped solve the crisis of textbooks in the Arabic language. He also translated many books in chemistry, physics and biology for middle and high schools.
On August 1, 1994, he was retired and since then he spends his time writing poetry, and in 2002 he released his poetry collection under the title "Hopes and Pains".

Shawqi Habib died on January 7, 2018, and his funeral was held on January 8, 2018, from the Greek Orthodox Church in Iblin.
