Shafik Tarazi was born in Gaza in 1906, received his school education in Gaza and Ramallah. He studied at the American University of Cairo (AUC).
After graduating from the AUC, he returned to Palestine and worked there as a school teacher. Later, he established, along with his brother Wade', Gaza College in 1942.
