Jaafar Hijjawi: A Palestinian engineer and poet from the village of Hajja in the Nablus district. He studied mechanical engineering at An-Najah National University and currently works in Kuwait as a mechanical engineer.
He has participated in numerous poetry evenings at his university, as well as in various Palestinian, Kuwaiti, and Jordanian cities. Along with several poets from An-Najah University, he co-founded the An-Najah University Forum of Writers and Poets, where he served as its first general coordinator.
Hijjawi has published several poems in Palestinian, Kuwaiti, and Egyptian newspapers. He won second place in the Sharjah Award for Arab Creativity in its 20th edition (2016/2017) in the poetry category for his debut collection “The Gypsy Woman Searching for Her Land.”
