Ahmed Mustafa Jaber was born in Amman, Jordan in 1969, to a Palestinian family whose origins go back to the town of Edna in the Hebron Governorate in the occupied territories. He is married and has two sons and a daughter. He obtained a BA in Educational Psychology from the University of Damascus in Syria.

Jaber joined the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine during the first Palestinian Intifada, and completed several military courses, including a course for company leaders at the military college in Libya. He joined the armed Palestinian resistance elements in Lebanon, and carried out combat missions on the northern borders of Palestine, especially in southern Lebanon and the Bekaa. He was stationed in the Daraa camp and the Yarmouk camp, and worked in Damascus in the office of the former Secretary-General of the Popular Front, George Habash. He joined the Palestinian Youth Organization affiliated with the Front, edited its magazine, and worked in the Ghassan Kanafani Cultural Forum. He was chosen as a member of the Central Committee of the Front in Syria, and became one of the leaders of the Front in Syria. He was forced to leave Syria after the outbreak of the Arab Spring events there, and lived in Egypt, then was forced to leave it, and settled for the rest of his life in Istanbul, Turkey.   

Jaber was a member of the Palestinian Writers and Journalists Union, and his writings focused on issues of the Arab-Israeli conflict. He published his articles and studies in a number of print and electronic magazines and newspapers in Palestine and abroad, especially Al-Hadaf magazine, the mouthpiece of the Popular Front, for which he began writing in 2003. He became its editor-in-chief, head of the enemy section, and head of its cultural page, then became its executive editor until his death.

He has published five books, including: Eastern Jews in Israel: The Dialectic of Victim and Executioner (2004), A Statement for Women: Against Violence and Discrimination (2005), and Young Palestinian Refugees: Needs - Identity - Participation (2006). He also has a novel entitled Al-Harithi Castle, which was published in 2016.

Jaber suffered a severe heart attack, which led to his death in Istanbul, Turkey, on April 20, 2023.
