The poet, Dr. Abdul Rahman Ahmed Jibril Baroud (Abu Hudhayfah) (1937 AD - 2 Jumada al-Awwal 1431 AH / 17 April 2010 AD), was born in the village of Beit Darras (one of the villages of the Southern District - Gaza District) in 1937 AD.
Growing up and education
He was born in the village of Beit Darras , in 1937 ; He immigrated with his family in 1948 to Gaza after it was occupied by Zionist gangs. He was 11 years old at the time. In 1951, he joined the only Islamic society in the Gaza Strip, the “Tawhid Society,” headed by Dhafer Al-Shawa . The association had a section for students, and a party was held on Thursday every week.
It was of a religious oratory nature, in which a number of people participated, the Qur’an was recited, and poetry was recited, which affected his personality. He studied in the Hashemite School, which was close to the Tawhid Society, and his ability to compose poetry became apparent in the school, as there was a literary society in the school that provided opportunities for talents, and the poet Haroun Hashim Rashid used to study there, and he would revise his poems that he composed for him.
