“Women Making Change” Tamara Abu Laban grew up in the Dheisheh refugee camp and lived through the uprising and difficult political events. Childhood in the first and second intifadas was not easy, but she captured in her memory stories from the camp that she hoped to tell the world one day. Abu Laban holds a bachelor’s degree in media from Cairo University, and she also holds a master’s degree in filmmaking from the Red Sea Institute of Cinema Arts in Jordan. Tamara worked on many television channels as a preparer, photographer, and director, and participated in the production and direction of many documentaries. She also directed two series that were shown on Arab channels. She also participated in many international festivals. She won the Synorgis Award for her initiative to make films with girls and change the stereotype of women.
