A large number of Palestinians are accustomed to contributing to the products of the Palestinian national identity in several fields at once, armed with knowledge, knowledge and high-level know-how. In this context, we recall the biography of Younis Khattab, which ranged between fine art, education, and documentation, but he prefers to call him and describe him as a visual artist in the beginning.
His artistic career:
As for Khattab’s career in the field of plastic artist , it was as follows, as he obtained a certificate in fine arts, from the Fine Arts Center in the Syrian city of Hama, issued by the Ministry of Culture, Fine Arts Directorate on 10/12/1971. In his plastic drawings, Khattab embodied the Palestinian Intifada and the nature of the city of Hama, in which he was born and raised.
Among the most important artistic, group and official exhibitions from 11/26/1968 to 1/28/1973 were the exhibitions of the plastic arts centers in the city of Hama and other governorates. In 1976 and later, the first, second and third exhibitions of the “Friends of the Suhail Al-Ahdab Center for Fine Arts” committee.
In 1971, he participated in the Ministry of Education’s pavilion dedicated to the arts at the Damascus International Fair, and during the years 1976-1990-1991-1992; Participate in the annual exhibition of artists in Damascus, which is held at the National Museum, 1990. 1986 until now He participated in most of the exhibitions organized by the General Union of Fine Artists - Syria Branch, especially the annual Karama exhibition. 1990 He participated in an external exhibition held by the General Union of Fine Artists - Syria Branch in Moscow. 1991 He participated in an external exhibition held by the General Union of Fine Artists - Syria Branch in Tehran.
1991 until now. He has participated in exhibitions in Syria and abroad. He is a member of the General Union of Palestinian Plastic Artists - Syria Branch and a member of the General Union of Palestinian Teachers - Syria Branch. Among the most important paintings he painted in 1976 were two paintings of the nature of Hama that were acquired by the Ministry of Culture, in the exhibition “Friends of the Suhail Al-Ahdab Center for Fine Arts,” which was held in the hall of the Cultural Center in Damascus.
1975 The painting “Bab Al-Nahr” from the nature of Hama, dedicated to fellow artist Bassam Sabbagh. 1971 “The Color Tree” painting, painted in the heavenly space of Al-Azm Palace in Hama (Hama Museum), and it is from my private collection. The paintings “The Nuns’ Monastery in Hama, 1973,” “The Mill on the Orontes, 1972,” “A View of Bab al-Nahr, 1993,” all of which are from the nature of the city of Hama, and paintings of old Damascene neighborhoods painted during the period between 1991 and 1994, were acquired by art collectors in Damascus.
The paintings in which he participated in the annual exhibitions of Syrian artists were painted between 1976 and 1992, and all of them were acquired by the Ministry of Culture in Syria. The painting “Bird Ababil” about the first Palestinian Intifada, painted in 1989, was shown in more than one exhibition in Syria, and was also displayed in Moscow and Tehran, and is from his private collection.
In addition to a group of paintings painted in 1985 and acquired by interested foreigners in Canada, Finland, Sweden, and Denmark, which are present in those countries. A group of paintings, in addition to some pencil sketches, and some watercolor portrait works, executed in the years 2012, 2013, and 2014 in the United Arab Emirates.
Artistic meetings and studies that published artistic criticism in the Syrian Vanguard magazine in January 1971 about the exhibition of students at the Fine Arts Centers that was held in the city of Latakia in the year 1971, in which my participating paintings were discussed. Education and Documentation
In addition to being a visual artist, Dr. Younis Khattab is a Palestinian writer and educator, born in the city of Hama in Syria in 1953. His origins go back to the village of Saffuriyya in the Galilee city of Nazareth. He contributed greatly during his long work at UNRWA in the field of developing pedagogical and teaching skills. As for his academic qualifications, he obtained a doctorate from Al-Hayat Al-Jadeeda Open Online University in 2016, a BA in English Language and Literature from the University of Damascus in 1980, and holds a certificate in negotiation skills and employee relations Optimiza Academy: October 2011; In January 2011, he obtained a certificate from the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) in the Leadership Managers Training Programme. The program included the following topics: Gender/gender, training, conflict resolution, code of conduct, performance management, negotiation skills. He also received a letter of thanks from Kansai University in Japan in August 2009 for his good performance as an organizer and trainer of the learner-centered course, where the activity was implemented under the auspices of Kansai University, Faculty of Informatics. He also obtained a certificate in management development.
And a certificate of completion of five weeks of training for trainers (Tot) in the development plan for a school, managing the development of educational personnel in their schools, managing and improving teaching and learning aspects, improving links between the school and the community, the quality assurance framework, in addition to a diploma in educational supervision and a diploma in teaching English language education for beginners, in addition to obtaining a degree in Certificate in library science. Dr. Younis Khattab has resided in the Kingdom of Sweden for several years.
