Haseeb Youssef (1936 - September 10,
2000) was a Jordanian director of series and show programmes. His origins go
back to the town of Hajjah in occupied Palestine. He was famous for his
programs that were shown in the eighties of the last century: Studio 85, Studio
86... etc., which were shown for consecutive years on Jordanian television. He
also directed Arab social series, the most famous of which is the series
“Midnight Train”, which was described as one of the most wonderful series of
the seventies, and it was shown on Jordanian television in 1978, starring
Mahmoud Al-Meligy (in the role of Abdel Sabour), and Nadia Al-Jundi (in the
role of Hayat). And Ashraf Abdel Ghafour, Salah Al-Saadani (in the role of my
son Abdel-Sabour), and Sumaya Al-Alfi. The series is based on a story by the
storyteller and writer of Jordanian-Palestinian origin, Mahmoud Saif Al-Din
Al-Irani, published in the Kuwaiti Al-Arabi magazine in 1960.
Director Haseeb Youssef passed away
in September 2000.
