Qandil Shakir (1931-2005) is from a Palestinian origin. Qandil is a member of the Jordan Academy of Arabic; studied Medicine at the University of Baghdad; he then continued his education in the United States. Qandil worked at the University of Jordan; dean assistant of the Faculty of Medicine then as general director of the University of Jordan's Hospital; director of the Islamic Hospital, he also has authored many medical books.
