Prof. Majed Ighbariyeh is a Palestinian professor from the village of Mu’awiya in the Umm al-Fahm area. He obtained his PhD from Tel Aviv University. He was invited as a visiting professor to lecture at the University of Hawaii, and later served as a lecturer at the University of Brussels for four years, during which he was awarded the title of Professor.
In 1997, he was internationally ranked as the top researcher in the field of Information Systems. He chaired 17 international conferences on Information Systems, which contributed to the global recognition of his name. He is considered the only Arab member of the scientific committee at Tel Aviv University, which is authorized to approve doctoral dissertations.
He ranked first as the most published researcher in Information Systems between 1981 and 1991, and was again ranked as the most productive researcher in his field from 1991 to 1997, with a significant gap between him and the researchers who followed.
