Ahmad Asaliya: A Palestinian professor from the city of Umm al-Fahm, he graduated from the Faculty of Medicine at Hadassah – Hebrew University in Jerusalem in 1988. He currently serves as Deputy Head of Department and Director of the Laparoscopic and Bariatric Surgery Unit. He earned the title of Professor of Surgery from the Technion Institute in Haifa, in recognition of his outstanding achievements in this field through his work as a skilled surgeon at Rambam Hospital in the city.
He lectures at the Faculty of Medicine at Technion and specializes in surgical procedures related to internal medicine, internal organs, and bariatric surgery. He is a member of the editorial boards of two international journals in the field of surgery, one of the founders of the World Association of Laparoscopic Surgery, and the President of the Israeli Society for Laparoscopic Surgery. He is also an active member of the Association of Surgeons in Israel, the United States, and Europe, as well as the International Federation for Bariatric Surgery.
Professor Asaliya has published two scientific books in his specialty through international publishing houses, in addition to publishing more than 80 scientific papers and editing 9 chapters in professional books in laparoscopic surgery.
