Yahya Ahmed Ramadan Ghubn was born in Beit Lahia, northern Gaza Strip, on August 10, 1986. He is married and has six sons and two daughters. He studied primary school at Al-Fakhura School and secondary school at Abu Ubaida Amer Bin Al-Jarrah School, from which he obtained his high school diploma in 2004. He earned a bachelor's degree in Arabic Language from the Faculty of Education at the Islamic University in Gaza City in 2008, a master's degree in Arabic Language (Literature and Criticism) from the same university in 2011, a doctorate in the same subject from the same university in 2017, a diploma in technical sciences from Al-Quds Technical College in 2014, and received a certificate from the Military Academy with honors.
Ghabban headed the Islamic Association in Beit Lahia between (2008-2010), worked as an imam and Quran teacher in the Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs between (2010-2011), and was an inspector of mosques in the Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs between (2011-2012). He was a university lecturer at the Future Applied Polytechnic between (2011-2013), a university lecturer at the College of Islamic Call between (2011-2015), a lecturer at Al-Aqsa University between (2015-2017), and a professor of criticism and literature (assistant professor) at Al-Aqsa University since 2017. He obtained the degree of professorship from Al-Aqsa University in 2025.
He participated in numerous local conferences and scientific seminars, and prepared scientific papers and published peer-reviewed research.
Ghobn joined the Islamic movement in his early youth, and became involved in advocacy, social and union work. He joined the ranks of the Islamic Bloc (the student framework affiliated with Hamas), and was active in planning and implementing its activities. He was a volunteer Friday preacher in the Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs since 2001, a member of the Teachers Syndicate, a member of the administrative body of Hamas in Beit Lahia, the head of the advocacy branch (Ashkelon branch) in the Al-Baraka neighborhood in Beit Lahia, the head of the activation and integration file in Beit Lahia, a member of the Beit Lahia Municipal Council, and a member of the Family Council.
He joined the ranks of the Qassam Brigades in 2003, became a group leader in 2005, then a platoon leader in 2007, then the commander of the Ain Jalut Company of the Beit Lahia Battalion in 2014, then the commander of the Support and Services Company in 2016. During this time, he was involved in mobilization and guidance (jihadist mobilization), raising the morale of the fighters, participating in repelling the incursions of the occupation army, and stationed himself on the front lines and at the borders. From his position in the Qassam Brigades, he participated in the battles fought by the Qassam fighters against the occupation army during the wars it launched on the Gaza Strip since 2008.
Ghobn suffered injustice from the occupation, as it prevented him from traveling to complete his university studies. His family was targeted in the Al-Furqan War (2008-2009), and two of his sisters were martyred. The occupation demolished his house during the war of extermination that the occupation began to wage on the sector since October 2023. He was martyred after being directly targeted by the occupation in one of the combat nodes in the city of Beit Lahia with his companions on November 11, 2023. He was buried from Kamal Adwan Hospital to the Beit Lahia cemetery.
