Information
Eugene Qatran is a British judge of Palestinian origin from the city of Acre. He holds a Ph.D. in Law from the University of London and has served in several judicial positions across Africa, including as a Justice of the High Court of Kenya and Commissioner of Kenyan Law. He was also appointed as a judge in Sudan, Nigeria, and Cameroon.
Many of his publications and legal writings have become primary references in African law. Judge Qatran has also served on the editorial boards of numerous legal journals and publications across the Commonwealth and the Middle East.
He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and has held chairmanships and memberships in several international arbitration panels, including the International Court of Arbitration of the International Chamber of Commerce (Paris), the London Court of International Arbitration, and the Arab-European Arbitration System.
Eugene Qatran has authored and edited numerous books on topics such as Middle Eastern law, human rights, the rule of law, and international law, and currently serves as the President of the Immigration Appeals Court.
