Ahmed Jamil Azm  is an assistant professor of international relations at Birzeit University , a member of the board of directors of the PLO Research Center, and a member of the Palestinian Central Council .

His biography

He previously served as the Head of the MA Program in International Studies at the Ibrahim Abu-Lughod Institute of International Studies at Birzeit University  , Palestine, and previously served as Director of the Arab and Palestine Studies Program at the same university. He was a member of the Board of Directors of the Abu-Lughod Institute of International Studies at the university, and a lecturer in international studies and political science. He was previously a visiting researcher at the School of Asian and Middle Eastern Studies at Cambridge University , UK. He also worked for about ten years at the Emirates Center for Strategic Studies and Research in Abu Dhabi, as a researcher and lecturer in scientific research methods, and as editor-in-chief of the center's journal, Afaq al-Mustaqbal .
He has co-authored several books, most notably "Arab Satellite Channels and Democracy," "The Star of Canaan," "The Future of Jerusalem and the Peace Settlement Process," "The Social History of Jordan (Jordan in Western Studies)," and "Current Transformations and Their Potential Role in Bringing Change to the Arab World" (in Arabic and English). His published research studies include "The American Scientific Failure in Iraq and the Failure of Conflict Transformation Strategies" (in Arabic and English) and "Redefining the Term Conflict Management" (in Arabic and English).
He wrote regularly for the Al-Ittihad newspaper in Al-Dhabi for five years, ending in 2011. He has been a regular writer for the Jordanian Al-Ghad newspaper since 2005,  and irregularly for other newspapers, in both Arabic and English. His writings also appear in the International Politics Journal in Egypt, and the publications of the Institute for Palestine Studies in Beirut and Jerusalem. He is a member of the research advisory board of the Masarat Center for Studies in Palestine.
He holds a PhD from the University of Edinburgh in the United Kingdom in Political Science, specializing in International Relations. He also worked as an undergraduate lecturer at the same university. He holds a BA in Sociology and Politics, and a MA in Political Science from the University of Jordan .
