The ScholarGPS global rankings have listed Palestinian academic Dr. Karim Abdel Majeed Tahboub among the top 50% of academics and researchers worldwide in the field of intelligent control and the top 1% in robotics and control theory .

Dr. Tahboub earned his PhD in robotics control from Germany in 1993. He currently works as a professor of mechatronics engineering at Palestine Polytechnic University, where he was the founding dean of the College of Engineering and Technology and the founding dean of the Deanship of Graduate Studies and Scientific Research.
He has also worked as a researcher and visiting professor at several prestigious international research centers and universities, including the Informatics and Robotics Laboratory in Montpellier, France; the Intelligent Machines Laboratory at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Boston, USA; the Artificial Intelligence Institute at the University of Freiburg, Germany; the French National Research Institute for Digital Sciences and Technologies in Paris; the Royal Society in Britain; and other international academic institutions.
Dr. Tahboub contributed to the development of the Palestinian higher education system, participating in the preparation of the National Policy for Science, Technology and Innovation in 2000.
He was recently elected as a member of the Executive Committee of the International Federation of Inventors' Associations in Geneva, Switzerland, representing the Higher Council for Creativity and Excellence.
